The Problem:
Feral Avenire approached us looking for concept art for their new wine brand. They wanted something that was aligned with animals, which they provided (bats, snakes, chameleons). The design was requested to be modern while holding a sense of mystery. They also required a logo for the packaging concept.
The Process:
Initially, we felt it would be best to create clean illustrations that would express the animal in a way that would complement the logo. The owners, who will remain anonymous, had "R" as their last name, and they often spoke about having a legacy for the brand in the future.
This is why we highlighted the "R" in the logo. We then decided to let the design be as clear and straightforward as possible. At this point in the design, the overall approach started to come together once the composition of various elements was made.
There was a thought to provide a bit more greenery to the mockups. However, the client made it clear that even though they wanted to have the animalistic approach, they did not desire a design that was too rustic, as they were still aiming for a modernistic theme. Hence, decided not to apply more floral elements.
The Results:
The project was well received, as the concepts provided by the marketing and branding team found the designs engaging. The mockup images effectively invoked a sense of curiosity that provided a sense of desire for the unknown flavors of the wine.
