The Problem:
The client requested an elementary concept art for a product they were considering to put to market. They had no idea what their brand would look like or what it could be. The only thing that was divulged was the nature of the treat to be sold. It was a marshmallow coated with a unique chocolate blend and filled with a French vanilla cappuccino cream in the center.
The Process:
The first thing we asked was "What audience were they targeting with the product?" Once we found out it was intended for all ages, but mainly young adults. We talked about vibrance, which they expressed a common need to "stand out." This led us to look into highly saturated colors that would pop on the shelf. At this point, we agreed to the "hot pink."
As we had a chance to taste the product, we felt that the core impact of the experience came from the burst of flavour that was accompanied by the rush of the creamy center of the treat. This allowed us to deliberate a strategy to visually focus on the idea of a "creamy burst of flavour" while providing a very rudimentary logo to encapsulate the swirling of tastes and flavors on the palate.
The Results:
This project was successful due to the fact that it allowed the internal marketing and branding team to effectively come up with a strategy that adopted some of our initial approaches and strategies based on our concepts developed.
